Royal Ontario Museum website redesign and micro-sites

Summary:
As the ROM's Lead UX Design Architect, I worked with the web team on the website redesign project, based in Drupal – primarily working on user research, workflows, personas, wireframing, prototypes, style guides and AODA accessibility standards.

I was also responsible for designing micro-sites and landing pages for various ROM exhibitions and events including: Forbidden City, ROM's Young Patrons Circle, Mesopotamia, Fiday Night Live, March Break, Ultimate Dinosaurs, Dead Sea Scrolls, iPad interactive Wild Life photographer of the year, Bison Collaborative (all websites in English and French). Additionally, interactive screens/kiosks and designs such as Centres of Discovery and a timeline for ROM ReCollects: A History of the ROM as told by its Visitors.

The website has over 5000+ pages. After project completion, along with the web manager, I trained ROM staff (over 100 staff) on design and updates using tools like Adobe CC and Drupal CMS.

Impact:
✔ Within weeks of launch, web traffic and pageviews increased exponentially.
✔ ROM staff, including scientists and curators were able to reach a wide variety of audience and update their own pages and posts.
✔ Teachers and educators were able to book school trips and courses with ease of use.
✔ Moreover, with the launch of Centres of Discovery section, audience were able to get most recent news and happenings about each centre. View: Centre of Biodiversity.
